Playa Del Carmen The Adventure Begins What started out as a quick stop in Playa Del Carmen on our way to Tulum turned into an overnight stay in one of the coolest hotels we have ever stayed in. After a few hours, a few beers, a few Margaritas and some excellent fish tacos, we decided Tulum could wait. We were spending the rest of the day, and night right here!

Welcome to Playa Del Carmen. We got in just before noon, parked the jeep and decided to check out the lunch options in town. We started with some nice cold Modelas.

We found a great place on the beach with a great view and got right into it with the live Mariachi band. Quatro Cervesas Por Favor!

After lunch we decided to try and find the Hotel Deseo. Cindy read about it in a travel magazine and said we should check it out. We did, we loved it and we spent the night. That's us in the pool looking out over the main street. The pool is on the roof!

We knew we were in a party room when we checked in and the night tables were stocked with condoms and ear plugs!

After a long day eating, drinking, swimming and hair braiding, it was time to get the party started." So Tell Me, What Do You Think"?

View of the front balcony looking out from the room. The entire corner of our room was made of glass doors that retracted into the wall opening the room on two sides to the balcony. We spent a few hours taking in the sites as the town passed on the streets by below us.

The morning after saying goodbye to the Hotel Deseo. It's time to pick up where we left off the day before and make our way to Tulum.
