Marbella

Marbella is a beautiful city that combines the old with the new and ties it all together with money. It's east to find just off the n340 highway. Parking is very easy in one of the many indoor parking lots. Once there you can enjoy the shopping and atmosphere of old town and the modern amenities of the beachfront with its shops and restaurants you plan to spend any time at the beach this may be the place to do it. We went to Marbella to check it out on our first full day in Spain. It was a Sunday and the shops in old town were all closed. This worked well for us, we walked through without any crowds and picked out the shops we would like to return to on the following day.
Archway is the entrance to Marbella.
Cindy takes a rest on one of the tiled benches in the square. These ornate benches were all throughout the square. Just behind her is the plaza leading to the Mediterranean.
This beautiful plaza leads to the beaches of Marbella. The beach area includes a long walkway made of marble tile lined with shops, restaurants and hotels.
One of the fountains in the old town section of Marbella. Old town is now filled with shops and restaurants all divided by narrow alleys. This shopping area shuts down from 2:00 to 5:00 for siesta.
This is a typical alley way in the old town district. Old town also still includes many residences and a church.
