Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus was one of my favorite stops. We first visited Puerto Banus on our way to Gibraltar Monday afternoon after lunch in Marbella. Puerto Banus is only about 12 kilometers south of Marbella on the n340 highway. We found parking easy in one of the underground garages downtown. We walked around the waterfront area and enjoyed the view. Puerto Banus offers many upscale shops and restaurants. I found a nice tobacco shop and took advantage of the low cost of real Cuban Cigars. A box of five Cohibas for about $40.00! The restaurants were all displaying the daily seafood menu in cases of ice out on the sidewalks. The seafood was unbelievable, the prawns looked like lobsters and the lobsters were blue! We knew we would be back for our one expensive meal. We ended up coming back that night on our way back from Gibraltar. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at one of the ocean front restaurants. When I told them it was our anniversary, we were treated like royalty. After dinner they turned off all the lights, played when a man loves a women, lit candles and sparklers and delivered a cake to our table announcing to everyone that it was our anniversary. One tip for you, when it says "Consult" on the menu that means market price so make sure you ask how much. We had a great night and everyone there was wonderful.

The streets along the marina are lined with shops and restaurants. If you like to shop, this is the place.

I found a great little tobacco shop along the waterfront. Boats, Sun and a Cuban Cohiba, I am a happy man!

During the day the restaurants display their fresh fish in coolers out in front of the restaurants. We ate most of the seafood in this cooler for our anniversary dinner.
